[0:32] More podcast the answer is yes I want to invite you to listen as I do.
Q with me and give you my unfiltered sarcastic and great advice if I do say so myself this is your Unapologetic excuse
take a break a load off if you will and grab the coffee or and I see frothy espresso Martini if I could be specific.
We're talking the business advice no one told you stepping outside of the comfort zone of your brand finding your perfect clients opening your first business.
Failing at your first business and mostly just all the sarcastic unbelievable bullshit and laughable stories in between.
[1:19] There's more where that came from was a quote I heard last year in reference to living a life of abundance.
[1:25] Whether there was more or not I would whisper it under my breath and some magical shit started to happen.
It quickly became a favorite quote.
Then a mantra and then I goddamn lifestyle whether you're looking for Success money love building an empire living the life of your dreams I can confidently tell you there's more where that came from
let's get this party started.
Hi friends it has been a hot minute I just looked it up,
the first and last podcast episode I ever put out into the world was January 16 you guys I'm back and
I have had this on my to-do list for months and so I am coming clean I am telling you guys where I've been.
What I have been up to everything in between and.
I'm going to be a little bit more consistent with it so when I set off in the new year I was like I cannot keep up with Tick Tock and reels like.
[2:37] I just can't be dancing around on these platforms so I was trying to think of ways that I could creatively
you producing content to find new clients and serve my existing clients so podcasting and the fact that I
launch my first podcast on January 16 like not even three weeks into the new year.
[2:59] Was nothing short of a miracle and so once that podcast came out I had such a great response I signed almost 10 new clients.
[3:12] Right from that podcast like they listen to it or they have been thinking about working with me and they listen to it and it was just top of mind and so I was so excited because everything that I thought
that the podcast would work for it did and I was a one-man show at the time and so.
I got overwhelmed and the podcasting and creating it just started to work its way slowly down the list and was not a priority.
And so over the summer I actually have not been that present on social media just because
I'm feeling really uninspired and like what's out there listen I came up in the days
of you had a pretty picture and you had a pretty caption and that's what you talked about and people would relate to you through pictures and words and.
[4:05] It's not like that anymore and that's really frustrating so.
I had been craving a sense of creativity and a way that I can like a mentioned before
provide value to my existing clients,
but also clients that are thinking about working with me or watching what I'm doing or other people that are in my industry.
[4:30] I want this to be a place to meet all of those people so y'all I'm back.
What's different is now I am back.
I have a podcast producer I have obviously video and I'm so excited to have someone doing that and so I just knew that if I was going to do it I wanted to do it right and I wanted to produce quality content.
And I wanted to be able to serve people in a way that they get value from this and so
I really wanted to set the intention as well in this episode for Who The Listener is and who I think will find Value in this but I've definitely made a shift in my business and started working with.
CEOs the small business owners the people in charge the people that were working in leadership.
And so that's really what this podcast is for if you are a CEO if you are a small business owner if you are leading a marketing team if you have an interest in marketing and sales and branding advertising.
This is for you I also want to preface this by saying this is not.
Your beginner's podcast and I mean absolutely no shame by that at all what I'm saying is is this is not going to be your 5 steps to starting a business.
[5:48] Like I listened to those podcasts and I found value in those but I just don't think I can authentically share that value with you so this is not what this is about I really want to share with you some higher-level mind like shifts things that changed for me things that have been really working for my clients trends that we're seeing and so I'm hoping that
you find inspiration all those little things and can apply it to what you are doing.
And that's really what this podcast is is its sharing more of all the good things and beginning journeys of starting a business mindset shifts that I've had throughout the business sharing those
little tips and tricks with you guys and everything else along the way and so.
Hopefully you get some goodies out of Essen.
[6:41] So to jump into things I thought it would be appropriate to just kind of share what I've been up to and since that first podcast what's really happened in my business
my business has completely transformed and the last nine months and I feel really grateful for that.
So one of the really huge big shifts that's different than what the last time that we talked together in January is that I.
Have a team with me now and y'all that has been the biggest game-changer in my business
and I'm not saying that that means to be everybody's business model like if you are out there doing your own thing by yourself that is amazing I am someone who.
[7:31] I like having people around me I like collaborating and so knowing and learning that about myself.
And knowing that I appreciate having people around me and I love.
Not just like working with people but solving problems with others and also I'm working with clients that have massive goals and so to be able to create something with another individual.
Or you know share that excitement with my client and my team can share that with them it just is so exciting,
so guys I'm giving you the blueprint of exactly how all this happened so.
[8:07] Put a marker on this save it send it to your friend this took me a really long time to figure this stuff out okay so in January I hired my virtual assistant team guys when I tell you that they Loki changed my life
I'm not exaggerating my virtual assistants are the type of people.
That if you ordered something at a restaurant and it wasn't what you ordered I'm the type of person where I'm like it's fine like was I meant to have it it's all right.
They would send the order back for me there are those girls and that's what I need in my life the girls will send the order back so
they really came into my business and took over like what systems and operations all the things that were very tedious and taking up time I was realizing that I was letting a lot of those like everyday activities
paying invoices ordering things keeping things on track managing teams like
that wasn't why I wanted just like work for myself that wasn't why I started at all like run me over with my car that sounds awful so when you start.
Having to have a little bit more responsibility as a leader in your company
or a CEO you start spending more time doing the things that you hate or that are your weaknesses or just aren't productive work it really makes you start to question,
what you're doing and I think that that can sometimes.
[9:33] Divert you off of the right path and so I started recognizing that at the end of last year that like you know a lot of things that I just hate doing.
[9:43] So I hired my virtual assistant team and it was like so much of my time freed up that I could start really.
[9:51] Looking above my business and seeing like alright where do I want to move next so.
The next month I hired my first team member he came in and he is the yin to my yang he is like
male version of me and we just have a really great working Dynamic and so my first like right-hand person was really someone that I felt like I could talk to
Express what's going on be honest with about my business look at the growth in like be a dreamer where someone and they would help put it into play so we always joke that like
I'm the creative and I'm the talker and then he's the more analytical person so if you put it puts everything into play in strategy so hired my first teammate,
two months later hired our second team member she was another account manager and the way that my business is structured as I have account managers so I work with clients one-on-one and so
as a way to just have extra support and my business and for my clients to make sure everything is done perfectly.
[10:58] I have account managers and then huh okay so the big needle mover at that point in time.
At this point I had gotten like my biggest clients yet the in the spring and I'm like what am I doing and literally I
attribute the the way that I started growing my team to the growth
that I had and then in June I invested in my first business coach will actually had a business coach before my real business coach and we'll have a podcast about that because y'all.
[11:29] I got hypnotized and it was like willing like I think I started like a contract but I just like didn't really understand what it was but that's a story for another time.
But I found another business coach who did not hypnotize me.
She's amazing and she's changed my entire life and really has me like leveling up and taking action and like really big ways so like I started to notice as I was
you know investing in things that a year ago I wouldn't have invested in a coach a year ago I wouldn't have vested in a virtual assistant
a year ago I would have said like I don't need an account manager I can do it myself like I don't have anything else going on anyways.
And that just like wasn't setting me up for growth and it was bogging me down kind of going back into.
All those things that really suck up your time make you start not enjoying what
maybe your purpose is and what your you know supposed to be here to do so added a couple team members over the summer and to start the school year and so now we have a team of,
eight there's eight of us gosh.
[12:34] There's eight of us there's eight of us and we work with a rotation of clients and yeah I just I think a big mission that I have with this podcast and speaking to business leadership
marketing advertising sales is I want to like be really transparent about the story and what we did and what works and I've been lucky enough to work with other marketing agencies and branding boutiques
and figure out like what's not working in their business and where they can fix that and that's not because.
I always joked like that's not because I'm an expert it's just because I fucked up enough times.
And I've been here the longest like the person who's been here the longest wins and so now that I like officially been in the sales industry.
Over a decade I'm allowed to be here and I'm allowed to working that's just my Slack,
that's another thing I were going to get into some of the like platforms and ways of communication that I feel like we're really really useful for me and and this time period so
we are going to be diving in for the rest of the year season 1.
[13:46] Finishing out this year strong with weekly episodes and I'm so excited for you to come along for the ride,
This truly is a place where I want to not only share my journey but share my clients colleagues mentors
people that you guys will love their Journey as well during this whole process and so I hope you find Value in it and you can take a little great nuggets away and apply them to your business and your everyday life so thank you so much for listening.
Please don't forget to subscribe and leave me a five star rating I appreciate it I'm so excited to get back in the saddle and be back podcasting,
have an awesome week we'll see you next week.
